My name is Ahmad, I’m 18 years old and I’m from Syria. I have lived two years in Sweden. In Syria I lived with my family and I went out with my friends. We had a good life. I went to school to play and not study. We lived for the day and did not think about the future.

We lived a very normal life before the war, with our daily routines. I worked as a teacher at the University of Aleppo. When the war began, I continued to work as usual until the situation in the country became even worse. I began to be afraid. My daughter’s school was across the street, but I was afraid to send her away.
