The truth without fear

My name is Rabia, I am 19 years old and come from Iraq from a city called Sinjar. At the moment I live with my brother and sister in Cologne Godorf, Germany. My homeland Iraq was once a beautiful country, today it is no longer as it once was. It’s war and death. Poverty is widespread everywhere in the country. The people of Iraq are very sad.

Peace has left the country, there are rules, but they do not fit the people or the nation. The situation in Iraq is not good. Continue reading “The truth without fear”

Hope of the path

My name is Osso and I come from Hassaka, the city in North East Syria is about an hour away from Turkey. About 700,000 citizens of different nations live there. Kurds, Arabs, Armenians. There are many religions represented in Hassaka, Hassaka is a colorful city almost like a small Syria. I love it very much, my little town.

Before I came here, I lived there with my parents and my siblings. I always miss my old life, we were a community, we lived together, ate together, cooked together. It was much nicer for me than it is today. Continue reading “Hope of the path”

Davoud Lajmiri is a 30 year old man, from Iran.

I have a bachelor in architecture, and had my own business in Iran. I worked and studied. I was 28 years when I left the country. I was Christian in Iran. When in Iran, there is no choice, everyone has to join the army. When I was in the army, I used to go to the secret hidden Christian church, that was outside the army facility. We couldn’t practice our faith openly. The regime found out about it. Someone who was in the army was also working for the regime, and they told people from the government about me. The government officers hacked into my phone and found some Christian scriptures. That is why I left the country. Continue reading “If you choose to be Christian, they call you ‘ertedad’”

It could be that what everyone’s saying is true

I was here in Germany and I had my papers here. When the massacre was in Račak, I immediately decided to go back to Kosova. At that moment I lost my right to stay in Germany. Right now I’m here for very important reasons. When I applied for asylum, I was told I were from a safe country. How can someone who does not hear my story at all decide my fate on the assumption that I come from a safe country? Continue reading “It could be that what everyone’s saying is true”

My financial misery brings me here

The economic situation in Albania is disastrous. There is high unemployment. And I had experienced that I was without money a few times in the middle of the month and didn’t know how to get along until the end of the month. I’m talking about the necessities, about food. Because of my daughter’s concern, I decided to leave Albania and find a place where my child could be safe. And I chose Germany. Continue reading “My financial misery brings me here”
