Davoud Lajmiri is a 30 year old man, from Iran.
I have a bachelor in architecture, and had my own business in Iran. I worked and studied. I was 28 years when I left the country. I was Christian in Iran. When in Iran, there is no choice, everyone has to join the army. When I was in the army, I used to go to the secret hidden Christian church, that was outside the army facility. We couldn’t practice our faith openly. The regime found out about it. Someone who was in the army was also working for the regime, and they told people from the government about me. The government officers hacked into my phone and found some Christian scriptures. That is why I left the country. Continue reading “If you choose to be Christian, they call you ‘ertedad’”

Assem Swaid is a 36 year old man from Homs, Syria.
In 2013 the Syrian government wouldn’t renew my passport. I had lost my job in 2013 and couldn’t go back to Syria. So, I went to Istanbul, Turkey for two and a half months, wanting to help refugees there. I was told it was better to go to Greece, and then go to Denmark where my sister lived. I stayed in Greece for 1 year and 8 months, and then traveled towards Denmark. Continue reading “I feel like politicians just talk about us, to promote their parties”

I came to Denmark in 2015. I work at the airport, first cleaning up, but now I’m gonna work at a restaurant.
I went to high school in Iraq. I had a dream of studying English at the university. After that, I dreamt of becoming a pilot. I worked after school, fixing phones at my fathers shop, and as a photographer. When someone got married in my city, I was the one who took the pictures. I did that for three and a half years. I was here in Germany and I had my papers here. When the massacre was in Račak, I immediately decided to go back to Kosova. At that moment I lost my right to stay in Germany. Right now I’m here for very important reasons. When I applied for asylum, I was told I were from a safe country. How can someone who does not hear my story at all decide my fate on the assumption that I come from a safe country? Continue reading “It could be that what everyone’s saying is true”

The economic situation in Albania is disastrous. There is high unemployment. Because of my daughter’s concern, I decided to leave Albania and find a place where my child could be safe. And I chose Germany. Continue reading “My financial misery brings me here”

I have the impression I can’t remember the things. What matters to me is what is now. I’m here because of political reasons. I tried to prove all this to the authorities. I had a lot of documents with me. It was very difficult to pass it on because people did not understand it and they also made me understand that it was so. I needed time to get a lawyer. What can I tell you? When I start telling my story, we’ll need time. I’ll try to make it short and brief. Continue reading “This is about blood revenge”
