Hope of the path

My name is Osso and I come from Hassaka, the city in North East Syria is about an hour away from Turkey. About 700,000 citizens of different nations live there. Kurds, Arabs, Armenians. There are many religions represented in Hassaka, Hassaka is a colorful city almost like a small Syria. I love it very much, my little town.

Before I came here, I lived there with my parents and my siblings. I always miss my old life, we were a community, we lived together, ate together, cooked together. It was much nicer for me than it is today. Continue reading “Hope of the path”

I immediately started to learn German

I’m Mohammed. I’m 19 years old. Two years ago I came to Germany because of the war in Syria.

At first I was forced to go to Turkey. After that I went back to my city (Kobani) after ISIS was gone. But I couldn’t live and study there without work. That’s why I decided to come to Germany. Continue reading “I immediately started to learn German”

It could be that what everyone’s saying is true

I was here in Germany and I had my papers here. When the massacre was in Račak, I immediately decided to go back to Kosova. At that moment I lost my right to stay in Germany. Right now I’m here for very important reasons. When I applied for asylum, I was told I were from a safe country. How can someone who does not hear my story at all decide my fate on the assumption that I come from a safe country? Continue reading “It could be that what everyone’s saying is true”

My financial misery brings me here

The economic situation in Albania is disastrous. There is high unemployment. And I had experienced that I was without money a few times in the middle of the month and didn’t know how to get along until the end of the month. I’m talking about the necessities, about food. Because of my daughter’s concern, I decided to leave Albania and find a place where my child could be safe. And I chose Germany. Continue reading “My financial misery brings me here”

This is about blood revenge

I have the impression I can’t remember the things. What matters to me is what is now. I’m here because of political reasons. I tried to prove all this to the authorities. I had a lot of documents with me. It was very difficult to pass it on because people did not understand it and they also made me understand that it was so. I needed time to get a lawyer. What can I tell you? When I start telling my story, we’ll need time. I’ll try to make it short and brief. Continue reading “This is about blood revenge”

I’ve been politically active

My hometown was in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. I lived in the center of Dhaka and could easily reach the school and the city center. The important places like Dhanmondi and Shyamoli could be reached quickly by bus. There the people were very busy and had to get up early in the morning every day to reach their destination due to the traffic jams. Continue reading “I’ve been politically active”

The flight

HE: I was in East Damascus in 2013. This year I fled to the city, to the centre. That’s where it started, the war started there. The main reason that caused the flight was: I was at work and I am an accountant by profession. My wife called and said to me, “Come and get me! Because of the kids. There’s a vehicle with rockets outside the door.” Continue reading “The flight”
