I live in Kirke Hyllinge with my family. I came to Denmark in june 2016. I have drawn the flags of all the countries I traveled to when I fled from the war.

I came to Denmark in 2014, on march 6th. In my homeland I owned a factory that made childrens clothes, and girls clothes was our speciality. Before the war my life was very good. I had lots of money and cars. My company was successful and we exported clothes to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait etc. The factory was located in the countryside. My cousin was killed in the war

Widad Alkojer is 9 years old and from Hama, Syria.

I came to Denmark in june 2016 with my family. I have two brothers and two sisters, a mother and a father.
I have drawn my cousin, my fathers sisters daughter, who was killed in the war. On the left I drew the flag of Daesh who want to destroy our country. On the right I have drawn the Syrian flag. I have also drawn our collapsed house and the blood and body of my aunt and cousin.

I go to school every day together with my sister

Girl, 14 years old, Kurd, Syria.

I came to Denmark in early 2016 with my parents and my sisters and brothers, and first we lived in the countryside in our own house. It was a very nice house, because it was nice and peaceful as I did not have to share my kitchen with anybody else except my family. But then we moved to Copenhagen to another temporary housing with shared facilities and a lot of other refugees around, and it was just very different from what we had been used to. One of my biggest dreams it to be really good at football

I have been in Denmark since early 2016, and until my family and I got our own apartment in Copenhagen we lived in several refugee centres, where I made good friends with whom I would play games like tag and hide-and-seek. I’m learning German and working as a janitor

Majdeddin Ahmed is a 31 year old man from Idib, Syria. He now lives in Germany.

I live a beautiful life in Europe. I’m from Syria. In 1998 I moved to Kuwait and in 2005 I moved back to Syria. I studied in a university to be an Arabic teacher, but because of the war, I couldn’t get a certificate. During the war I left to Lebanon and then Turkey and then Greece. I’m not going back to Syria

Razan is a 33 year old woman. Razan is from Syria, but now living in Central Sweden.

I was a math teachers back home in Syrian and it was good life. Everything was ok. But women’s rights were a problem. I felt I had no rights as a woman.
But then I fled to Sweden during the war. It’s a good place for children and women. I like it there.

I work as a mathematics teacher for children aged between 13 and 15. I live in a small with maybe 500 people. Everyone is nice.
I’m staying long term in Sweden. I’m not going back to Syria.
