“I just want to see my family all together”

We are all humans!

We are all humans! We led a normal life and we had many thoughts for the future. When I was in Afghanistan, I worked as an engineer.
In Afghanistan, the situation was not very good due to the war and we were very sad. Sometimes we had to go somewhere else and we wondered if we will go back or not. Maybe a bomb was dropped and that would cause us death. Maybe we wouldn’t be able to go back home. My siblings were married and later I was married too. Although there was a war, I was happy because my family was close to me. Continue reading “We are all humans!”

I chose to study French but my family complained that French is not so popular. They sent me to a village to study English because they thought that English is more important. After that, I studied Economics at a university. I was in the last year of my studies when the war started. Continue reading “Even though I am still alive, my daughter is growing up without me”

Afraid of the trucks, the sea, the ghosts and the lions

In a workshop that took place in Veria’s refugee centre, we read the book “The painter who painted a blue horse” at a group of refugee children. The main theme of the book was to teach children to follow their beliefs and to go against their fears with confidence. In the end, we asked them to draw their fears and put them into a box, so later we could take the fears away.
